Stone County Jail Mugshots
The official Stone County roster displays booking-photo thumbnails on current inmate entries. A Stone County booking photo should be read as one field in a larger jail record. It is useful for identity checking, but the surrounding data is what explains the custody event. The same record may show several charges, a hold for another county, a probation or parole hold, failure to appear, DWI, possession, domestic battery, or warrant-related details. Some entries include District Court or Circuit Court data.

Stone County Mugshot Access Law
Arkansas public-record law is the baseline for many jail booking records, but not every record is open. The Stone County Sheriff's FAQ says incident or offense reports, accident reports, jail booking records, warrant records, and citations may be public under Arkansas FOIA. It also notes limits for active investigations, juvenile records, personnel records, sealed or expunged records, and ACIC or NCIC records.

Arkansas HB1437 / Act 450 addresses unlawful publish-for-pay use of booking photographs on commercial websites.
Act 450 is important, but it should not be overstated. It concerns commercial publish-for-pay booking-photo abuse. It is separate from the sheriff's official roster publication and does not mean every Stone County booking photo must be removed from a government roster after a case changes. If a court seals or expunges a record, the records-clearing route is through the court order and the public agency that maintains the record.
Stone County Mugshot Retention
No official Stone County policy was located that states how long a booking photo remains on the current roster, New Inmates tab, or Recent Releases tab. The roster has a Recent Releases path, so released-person records may be visible for some period, but the reviewed sources did not post a fixed retention window. Treat the online roster as a live access point, not a permanent archive.
The county also did not publish a rule saying booking photos are removed after dismissal, acquittal, sealing, or expungement. The sheriff FAQ already identifies sealed and expunged records as exceptions from normal public disclosure. That means a person seeking removal because of a court action should start with the court record and then contact the agency that maintains the jail record.
Note: A current jail mugshot can disappear from the roster because of release, transfer, correction, sealing, or routine system changes.
Request Stone County Booking Photos
If a Stone County booking photo is not online, the researched fallback is to request available jail booking records from the Sheriff's Office during regular office hours. Use clear wording such as "jail booking record" or "booking photograph connected to the named person and date of arrest." The sheriff FAQ says report copies are $10.00 per report, but it does not publish a separate mugshot fee or photo-copy turnaround time.
The official sheriff FAQ is the best local source for what the office says may be public and what it excludes from release.
The FAQ screenshot supports asking for the booking record, not only the image, because the local public-record wording names jail booking records as a possible public-record category.
For filed charges, court events, or sealing records after an arrest, use Stone County court records after a jail arrest instead of relying only on the jail photo. Court records show charges, filings, hearings, and dispositions that a roster image cannot prove.
Stone County Mugshots App
The Stone County roster links to RPS-Inmate Info, a RelativityInc vendor app, through App Store and Google Play badges. It is not a Stone County-only sheriff app. The iOS listing advertises jail booking and mugshot information for RPS systems, inmate or prisoner information, arrested and released dates, charges, personal recognizance bond references, court dates, nearest-jail display, jail hours, jail address, website, visitation rules, map, and directions.

The app can be a useful mobile backup, especially for roster and mugshot viewing, but the official web roster and jail phone remain the primary Stone County custody paths.
Stone County Mugshot Removal
Removal depends on the source of the record. If the image is on the official Stone County roster, the practical question is whether the underlying jail record remains public. If the case was sealed or expunged by a court, use the court order and then contact the record-holding agency. If the image was copied by a commercial publish-for-pay site, Arkansas Act 450 is the relevant law topic, but those sites are not official Stone County sources.
A dismissal, acquittal, reduced charge, or closed case does not automatically tell the roster what to do with every historic photo. The safer records path is to get the court disposition first, then ask the Sheriff's Office about the jail booking record if the official public record should now be restricted. Do not pay a third-party site based only on a claim that it controls official Stone County records.
State and Federal Mugshots
Stone County jail mugshots are different from state prison, federal, and immigration custody photos. The Arkansas DOC locator may show photos for state prisoners, and it includes filters for county, facility or status, gender, offense category, age, photos, and race. DOC lookup is not the same as a current county booking-photo search, and Stone-related DOC status labels do not mean there is a state prison in Stone County.
The BOP inmate locator is for federal prisoners and does not operate as a public federal mugshot gallery. ICE ODLS is an immigration custody locator and does not publish a booking-photo gallery. If a federal or immigration defendant was arrested locally, the person may appear on the Stone County roster only while physically held in the county jail and entered into that local system. After transfer, use the agency of custody rather than expecting Stone County to host the photo.
